Note that Samui has a limited public bus system, so most visitors rely on songthaews, taxis or rental vehicles.

When to go

The best time to visit Koh Samui is during the dry season, which runs from December to August. The island experiences a wet season from September to November, with frequent rain and occasional storms. Temperatures remain warm throughout the year, typically ranging from 25°C to 32°C. February to April are particularly popular, with calm seas and clear skies, though this is also the hottest period. If you prefer fewer crowds, consider visiting in June or July, which still offers good weather.
