Ko Pha Ngan has no airport. Most visitors fly to Ko Samui or Surat Thani and continue by ferry. From Surat Thani, ferries depart from Donsak Pier and take about 2.5 to 3 hours. From Ko Samui, the ferry takes around 30 minutes. On the island, songthaews and taxis are available, and motorbike rental is common for getting around independently. Roads are mostly paved but can be steep and winding in places.

The best time to visit Ko Pha Ngan is during the dry season from December to March, when the weather is generally sunny and rainfall is low.
