The Eastern Bus Terminal is here too: buses to Pattaya are the standard orange or blue Bor Kor Sor coaches, air-conditioned with luggage under the bus, and you should arrive 20 minutes early to buy your ticket. Avoid touts offering minivans.

The Ekkamai food and design loop is best done 10am-2pm to avoid the heat, which says a lot about the area: daytime here is hot, so plan walks and the coffee-and-design stretch around Soi Ekkamai 10 to 12 for the morning.
