3-star hotels in Chatuchak
A shortlist of 15 three-star hotels around Chatuchak, Bangkok, each rated by past guests at 4.4 or above. It is built for market obsessives, second-time visitors and anyone with an early flight who wants the Airport Rail Link within easy reach.
Staying in Chatuchak
Chatuchak is Bangkok's weekend market district, and that shapes everything about staying here. It is not a going-out neighbourhood: there is no bar strip and no walkable dining row, so evenings mean a taxi or the BTS. The payoff is JJ Market, open Saturday and Sunday 9am to 6pm with a smaller Friday night wholesale session, plus Rot Fai Park and Chatuchak Park for a morning jog. It suits market obsessives, second-time visitors and travellers with an early flight. If you are in Bangkok Monday to Thursday, Chatuchak as a base makes little sense.
The hotels on this shortlist sit along the main arteries of the district and just beyond it: Phaholyothin Road, Kamphaeng Phet Road, Lat Phrao, Ratchadaphisek and Vibhavadi Rangsit. Best Western Chatuchak is on Kamphaeng Phet Road beside the market itself, while Double Bed Hotel, Apartelle Jatujak Hotel and Phawana Sweet Hotel cluster around Soi Lat Phrao 41 and Soi Ladprao 1. The Plimplace 2, The Urban Oasis, Boutique Poo Yai Lee and Rent V38 line Phaholyothin and Vibhavadi Rangsit, and several more sit south along Ratchadaphisek. Couples, families and business travellers all find something here.

Where to stay in Chatuchak
Phaholyothin
Phaholyothin is one of the main roads running north out of central Bangkok, with the BTS and MRT within reach and easy connections onward. The Plimplace 2, The Urban Oasis, Boutique Poo Yai Lee and Rent V38 all have Phaholyothin or Vibhavadi Rangsit addresses, putting them on this artery rather than in the market itself.
Our picks here: The Plimplace 2
Ratchadaphisek
Ratchadaphisek is the long road running east of the centre, lined with offices, malls and the MRT line that carries its name. L sevenhotel, Justice Hotel, Baan Tanwa MRT Ratchadapisek and Matini Ratchada 32 all sit on or just off it, giving you a straightforward run south towards the city's business districts.

Lat Phrao
Lat Phrao and its sois form a residential, low-rise part of the district where local life carries on through the week. Double Bed Hotel, Apartelle Jatujak Hotel, Phawana Sweet Hotel and Thanaree place all have Lat Phrao or Ladprao addresses, so the market is a short hop rather than a walk.

Plan your stay
Getting there and around
Chatuchak has its own BTS and MRT stations, and the market is entered from Kamphaeng Phet MRT exit 2 into Section 8, or from Mo Chit BTS via Chatuchak Park. The area also links to the Airport Rail Link, which is why it suits travellers with an early flight. Distances within the district are short but the heat is real: from Kamphaeng Phet MRT, cut diagonally through Sections 7, 6 and 5 to the clock tower, exit north into Section 3, then leave by the northeast gate onto Kamphaeng Phet 3 and cross into JJ Green and Rot Fai Park, returning via Chatuchak Park.
When to go
Go at the weekend. JJ Market runs Saturday and Sunday 9am to 6pm, with a smaller Friday night session for wholesale buyers; a few sections open weekdays as JJ Plaza but that is about 5% of the scale. The site's own advice is to walk the market Saturday 8-11am before the heat. Outside those days the district empties after 9pm on weekdays and the streets around the market feel deserted, while weekends stay lively until midnight around JJ Green.
Things to do near Chatuchak
Questions, answered
When is Chatuchak Market open?
Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 6pm, with a smaller Friday night session for wholesale buyers. A few sections operate weekdays as JJ Plaza, but that is only about 5% of the full scale, so a Monday to Thursday stay here makes little sense.
Which shortlisted hotel is closest to the market?
Best Western Chatuchak has a Kamphaeng Phet Road address right by the market and scores 4.4 from 599 reviews. Apartelle Jatujak Hotel on Soi Ladprao 1 and Baan Tanwa MRT Ratchadapisek are also close and both score 4.6 and 4.4 respectively.
Which hotel has the best guest rating?
Double Bed Hotel on Soi Lat Phrao 41 leads with 4.9 out of 5 from 347 reviews. The Plimplace 2, The Urban Oasis and Homies Ratchada Hotel all follow at 4.7.
Do any of these hotels have free parking?
The Plimplace 2, The Urban Oasis, Phawana Sweet Hotel, Thanaree place and Baan Tanwa MRT Ratchadapisek all list free car parking. Rent V38, Best Western Chatuchak and L sevenhotel do not list parking among their facilities.
Which hotels suit families?
Double Bed Hotel, Thanaree place and Baan Tanwa MRT Ratchadapisek list family rooms, and Baan Tanwa also lists cots. J&Y Hotel has a swimming pool and restaurant, and Thanaree place adds a garden, both helpful with children.
Which hotels have a pool or fitness facilities?
J&Y Hotel is the one shortlisted hotel listing a swimming pool. The Plimplace 2 and L sevenhotel both list a fitness centre for guests who want to train during their stay.
Which hotels serve breakfast?
The Plimplace 2, Best Western Chatuchak and Rent V38 list breakfast. Justice Hotel offers breakfast in room, and Boutique Poo Yai Lee lists a buffet.
Is Chatuchak good for nightlife?
No. The site is clear that Chatuchak is not a going-out district: no bar strip, no walkable dining row, no old-town charm. Weekends stay lively around JJ Green until midnight, but weekdays empty after 9pm, so you will take a taxi or the BTS for atmosphere.
